I've been reading the Gospel of John and thinking about the miracles that Jesus did. Take a moment with me to imagine if the things that Jesus did were done for you or for someone you love….
• You run out of wine at a party and Jesus comes to the rescue, turning water into the best vintage you have ever tasted.
• Your son has a terrible fever. The doctors can't bring it down. If his temperature doesn't go down soon your son will die. You beg Jesus to come and heal your son. And he does.
• You are paralyzed, Jesus tells you to walk, and much to your surprise...you can!
• You’re hungry (*you and thousands of others, too), so he takes the lunch of a boy, gives thanks, distributes the bread and fish, and everyone has enough to eat. In fact, there are leftovers.
• You find yourself in the middle of a storm and you’re not sure if you are going to survive it. Jesus comes our of nowhere and brings you safely to shore.
• You are blind, Jesus puts mud on your eyes (¿ ?), tells you to go and wash them, and now you can see.
• You are dead and Jesus brings you back to life.
What is the logical response to these heaven-sent actions? In Jesus' day, people responded in one of two ways: they either bowed down to worship him, or, they knelt down to pick-up a rock to stone and kill him.
What about you? If Jesus did any of things to you, would you put your faith in him?
(*I just did a teaching on John 12. It seems like in order to believe we need a new heart. You can listen to it if you like by going to
